3D model datasets for AI: what buyers already sell
Updated
Before you price a 3D library for AI, see what is already on offer. These are the 3D model datasets the organisations on our buyer board describe on their own pages.
Ask about my 3D models 3 of the 16 platforms we read can already train on what users put in. Tell us where your models live and we will write back about your library.
The large licensed collections
Shutterstock offers TurboSquid's library, "Over 1 million models in formats like FBX, OBJ, USD, glTF, and more." A23D says its dataset contains more than 579,000 assets across over 625 categories. A seller listing on AWS Marketplace describes a collection of 3D CAD models in SolidWorks, STEP and GLB formats.
Smaller, single-owner libraries
CGAxis lists 4,390 3D models and 7,794 PBR material sets, all authored by one company. Daz 3D sells structured 3D datasets with what it calls clear licensing for enterprise deployment.
What that means for a studio's library
Most of these sellers stress provenance: a single owner, in-house artists, or contributor permission. A library whose models carry clean ownership and no prior training licence is the kind they describe, which is why the marketplace clauses on our board matter before a sale.
